Blockprint Workshop Retreat 6 Days Delhi
Day 1 Block Carving
- Introduction to the history and craft of Indian block printing.
- Carve your own small wooden block from a sketch
- Optional: Submit a custom block design for carving (extra cost)Must be sketched on Day 1 or sent 1 week before arrival . Hand-carved by our master block wallah, usually ready by Day 5 or 6
Day 2 Color Mixing & First Prints
- Mix your own water-based printing ink
- Choose from studio blocks and start printing
- 1 meters of fabric included
Day 3 – Continue Block Printing
- Practice block repetition, layering, and pattern placement
- 1 meters of fabric included
Day 4 Indigo Dyeing: A Day of Blue
- Dive into traditional Bagru-style resist block printing
- Shibori technique
- Learn to print with mud as a natural resist
- Dye with authentic natural indigo powder
- Experiment with Shibori and tie-and-dye techniques
- A full day dedicated to this ancient and magical process

Day 5 Custom Block Printing (If Ready)
- Begin printing with your custom-carved block
- If not yet ready, continue with studio designs
